The Most Important Part Of A Canopy Bed

Canopy Bed Frame

Canopy bed frames are the most important part of a canopy bed since they form the shape of the bed.  In other words, they are the parts which form the skeleton of the canopy bed.  On top of the frame only the mattress and sheets and canopies are draped.

The canopy bed frames are made of different types of materials.  They are made into different shapes too.  There are frames made of wood, wrought iron, brass, cast zinc etc.  In order to make a canopy bed you will have to fix all the parts of the frame.

Canopy frames made of wood are fixed by the manufacturers.  These parts will be heavy and so they cannot be done at home.  But nowadays, fixing a bed is made easy.  Since the metal frames are lighter and easier to handle, they can also be fixed at home to make the bed.  They can be fixed using simple mechanisms.  There is also the portable canopy bed frame available in the market.  So you can dismantle the part of the canopy bed and take it wherever you want.

There are different styles of frames too.  They are the Wrought Iron Canopy bed, Spade Canopy bed, a low end canopy bed, toddler princess canopy bed, etc. Once the bed is set, the mattress is laid.  Then the other additional accessories can be set depending on the style of the frame.

In the West, canopy beds became a trend around the 14th and 15th century.  The canopy bed was originally known as a tester.  But testers are not quite the same thing as canopy beds.  A tester is a four poster with two freestanding posts on one end and a headboard on the other.  On the headboard there would be a painting or an engraved design.

If you want the right kind of canopy bed frame to suit your room, you can go online and see the many different kinds of styles of frame.  They differ in style since their origins are from different places.  Canopy frames that are made in China will be different from those made in Europe.  So you can choose the style you like accordingly.
